Skin care is a significant part of my daily routine. Having always had acne issues, I feel like I am always on the lookout for new products to try. As we all know it’s a hit and miss with these kind of products and the results can be detrimental—no one likes waking up to even more skin problems. I find that word of mouth can be the best way to discover new products, minimizing some of the risk of trying something new; which is why I will have posts reviewing my favourite products for you to try. Obviously I can’t guarantee you will love them as much as I do, or they will even suit your needs but at least you will have the opportunity to hear about them. If you know any great products, especially skin care, that you swear by leave a comment or send me an email and I will check them out!

Exfoliation is a key factor in caring for your skin. Especially in dry places like Calgary, we need to remove the dead skin cells to make way for the new ones. You don’t want to over exfoliate; I usually stick with once a week.

Finding the right exfoliator for your skin can be a challenge. Always use a very fine exfoliation, products with too big of pearls (or whatever is being used as adhesion) can cause harm to your skin—the particles can produce little cuts on the surface of your skin.

I LOVE Rocky Mountain’s Vanilla Coconut Revitalizing Face Polish. It contains Moroccan Lava Clay which helps reduce dryness and improves skin elasticity. You can use it on any part of your body, but I just use it on my face. It can be mixed with a variety of things such as water, essential oil, or even yogurt. I mix it with the company’s Rosehip Cleansing Oil .

Why I love the Rocky Mountain Soap Company is because it is all natural; plus the stores smell amazing!
