Furniture is expensive, even buying Ikea can get pricey. Lots of time it isn’t in the budget to buy all new furniture to match your ambitious interior design dreams.

The best way to transform your room is to re-do your old furniture. A fresh coat of paint can do wonders and at a low cost. My new house has a grey theme so both of my pieces got a new dark grey book. However, white is always a neutral color, or pick the accent color of your room.

I just used wall paint that I had left over. You can probably go buy paint that is more suitable for furniture but because these won’t be highly used furniture, I didn’t want to spend the extra money.

Make sure you give the furniture a wipe down before you start painting. Then, depending on the original color, 1-2 coats of the new color should do the trick. I added the silver handle to the bedside table to make it look more finished rather than painting the original pink knob. For the bench I wanted all three baskets but didn’t realize the openings are not all the same size.
