Waking up on Christmas morning and being able to spend the day on the beach rather than a snowy, freezing, Calgary is the best feeling in the world. It really proves that it is not where you are but who you are spending the holidays with.
We go away almost every Christmas to somewhere warm, usually Hawaii, and I cannot complain one bit. But many people are concerned that it is just not the same there as it is here with the snow falling (or dead grass as it will be this year). Obviously those people have never tried Christmas on a beach…
The best part of Christmas on vacation is that after breakfast everyone doesn’t separate and go do independent activities. The day that is supposed to be spent as a family gets interrupted by regular every day things. At the beach you spend the whole day (and the entire vacation) together.
Spend the holidays with the people that mean the most to you, and your location is irrelevant.
