My mom introduced me to this cream after I had a chemical peel and was looking to provide more hydration a few days after. It can be used over the whole body, but I just use it on my face. Because it is so thick I don’t use it on a regular basis, but every few weeks I will use it for extra hydration overnight. Or if I steam, exfoliate and use a masque, I will put it on after to just let my skin hydrate without having any extra ingredients in it. Once you get used to the feeling of it on your face (it is fairly heavy) you will fall in love with it. I love waking up in the morning and having such soft and hydrated looking skin. It really gives you that extra glow you want to see when you wake up.
The shea cream from L’Occitane contains 25% shea butter, which is one of the most concentrated versions out there. The shea butter is from Burkina Faso, and is harvested in a sustainable and fair trade partnership with the women who produce so you can feel better about the money that you are spending – it is going towards fair wages for these women.
It is not overly expensive so it is easy to add to your skincare routine.
