This past weekend I had the chance to check out the newest nail salon on 4th street called Uptown. Its a modern, simple design, with a little Turkish Bath flair. I had a friend take me because she had met the owner, who welcomed us in with open arms and lattes. The interior design is stunning. It’s very clean cut with white walls and nail tables, but the flair comes from the different textures and patterns that the owner incorporated on his own. They display local art on the walls for no cost, exposing the artists and letting the customers experience the art while they are getting their nails done. The back wall near the pedicure stations is a wood panel made up of light wood panels. The tile below is the Turkish bath inspiration, and the copper lights complete the whole design. On the actual pedicure benches and foot sicks themselves the tile came from Vietnam, inspired by the tile that the owner grew up with back at home. The black and white tile compliments the houndstooth fabric.
Not only do they offer an array of pedicures and manicures, they have other esthetician services such as waxing and eyelash extension. We both got the signature pedicure which involves an exfoliation scrub, and hot stone massage on our feet and calves. For a bit extra you could add a parafin wax, which I have had at other places – definitely recommend adding that on to your service. The ladies were super friendly, adding to the lovely experience we had.
I had such a wonderful experience there, I highly recommend getting your girls together and making an appointment. This is going to be my permanent nail salon when I need a relaxing day.
