Even though summer is over and we are having to put away the shorts, sun dresses, and sandals for the cold months ahead, I get excited thinking about cozy sweaters, thick socks, and cuddling up by the fire. Summer is my favourite season but I really love fall for the warmth (not literal temperature, lets be real) of the fashion, food (pumpkin spice anyone?) and spending quality time with people indoors.
Shopping for new Fall pieces to add to my wardrobe, I popped into 27 Boutique on 17th ave. If you have never been to the store but follow them on Instagram, you know they carry the cutest trends. I obviously fell in love with every single piece of clothing in there; the new Fall trends they have happening in there are the best mix between hipster, NYFW, and Calgary’s weather.

I have to be completely honest, I had a little help from Charly Goss, a stylist at the boutique. I probably wouldn’t have put a printed skirt with a printed jacket over top, but it looked fabulous; I felt super hipster. Also, I fell in love with the hat, its such a flattering hat – not too floppy, but not a fedora, it makes any outfit look that much more sophisticated. The whole outfit is perfect for a fall in Calgary, a skirt because its probably nice enough out to have bare legs, but having a jacket that actually matches your outfit because you know you’re going to need it later when the sun goes down. And the turtleneck is really light, even though its a knit sweater – it won’t weigh you down if you leave off the jacket.
You definitely have to get down to 27 Boutique, or order these pieces online. They also have the most amazing candles in right now, way better than the ones at Chapters; I couldn’t resist the Fall scents, and it supports a small candle business, Coal and Canary. After a huge debate I chose the one called 110 Calories that smells like sweet biscotti; seriously you need to get one of these for your house.
I am so excited about all the lovely fall trends, I am (almost) not sad that summer is over. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to enjoy a lovely pumpkin spice latte.
