If you are looking to still jump on board for some of the Fall trends, I have found one that translates from the runway to your everyday life easily. Vogue’s list of top 12 fall trends from the NYWF includes “a touch of fur”:
The monster furs that percolated on the street style blogosphere this winter were chopped and screwed for fall, and pieces of mink, fox, and Mongolian lamb fur were collaged onto everything from prim double-breasted coats at Prada to evening dresses at Proenza Schouler.
I love the fur trend, I think its an easy way to make trendy pieces cozy, and add a little bit of texture to an outfit. 27 Boutique is carrying the cutest vest with grey fur (kind of look like feathers) on the front. I absolutely had to add this piece to my fall wardrobe; it is so easy to pair with any outfit. Here I have styled it with these cool grey jeans and a white long sleeve, but it would also be great for a night out with a little black dress; or with leggings and a scarf – the possibilities are endless with a piece that can fall between casual and dress.

Even though this vest is a statement piece, small pieces of jewelry add a nice compliment. I fell in love with both the necklace and ring by CoutuKitsch, a local YYC company. They add subtle and delicate, yet elegant detail to the whole outfit. The whole outfit was a great choice for my night out to Commonwealth, it fits right into the edgy, hipster but still trendy crowd that tends to convene there. The white long sleeve is super thin, so I wasn’t worried about overheating, even with the vest and toque on.
