My current obsession is smoothie bowls – I just can’t get enough of them. Who’s with me? Maybe I’m just very influenced by instagram trends (that’s a possibility) but all I can think of is what combination of fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds am I going to combine to create the next delicious bowl. If you haven’t tried one, you need to get your blender out right now and all your instagram-worthy toppings.

At first I thought it was going to be weird, why not just drink the smoothie? First of all smoothies are very hard to get good, insta-worthy pictures of. But it’s really just like eating soup, thick soup.

And the combinations are endless. Usually I just use whatever I have in my kitchen, just how I would make any other smoothie. I add protein to mine because I use them as a snack/meal but that is completely up to you! Here are my favourite three at the moment. Just blend all the ingredients together and use the toppings to make it look pretty.

What is your favourite smoothie bowl combo? I am always looking for new ideas to try!

  1. Smoothie bowls are fun – a nice twist to just drinking a regular smoothie since they’re so pretty. 🙂

  2. I’ve never tried one of these, but I was wondering why you’d eat it from a bowl and not drink it? Is that so you can have whole pieces of fruit instead of blending them up? Just wondering…your pictures are great

  3. These smoothie bowls would be great for breakfast or lunch everyday of the week. I make my own cheese and use the whey from the cheese to add protein.

  4. I love making smoothie bowls by color: combining green fruits with spinach, pink and red fruits together, etc. It’s so calming to match colors and play with textures!

  5. I thought the same thing – it’s kind of weird having to use a spoon, but yeah then you can add seeds and chunks of fruit into it. Kind of like eating a bowl of yogurt.

  6. Smoothie bowls are a new concept to me, but I want to get into trying them!! These all look amazing and fairly easy to do!!

  7. These are new to me and they look amazing! I’ll have to get some “supplies” at the store for tomorrow morning:) (Your photography is gorgeous as well!)

  8. You’re right, smoothies do look much prettier in a bowl! These look delicious. I’m especially intrigued by the Chocolate Avocado one. Those are like two of my favorite things in the whole wide world.

  9. This would be such a great thing to do with my daughter every morning, let her put a bowl together like this.

  10. So I’ve been seeing smoothie bowls popping up here and there, and wondered what the fuss was all about. I gotta say they do look delicious! I might have more luck with the bowls than trying to drink the plain smoothies!

  11. Smoothie bowls are what they sound like, but they re better. You can create pretty much any combo of flavors that you want and then top it with your favorite fruits and other crunchy things like cereal and nuts. This means it s more satisfying than a regular smoothie because you can t down it 10 seconds.
