The coffee scene in Calgary just keeps getting better. The passion and excitement around the growing culinary scene in Calgary is addicting and every time there is a new player I always try to get there as soon as I can.
There is no shortage of lattes and pastries to be had in our lovely city and I am on a mission to try them all. Seriously, the amount of time I spend in cafes would earn me a full time job (anyone looking to pay me to drink coffee?).
Owned by the Teatro Group, Al Forno is the newest cafe and bakery that recently opened up in Eau Claire near the Peace Bridge. They serve coffee and pastries, brunch, lunch, dinner and grab & go. They have a killer pancake stack, and the best almond croissant in the city. Pair either of them with a latte and you have started your day right. Or if you prefer the evening they have half priced bottles of wine on Wednesday, need I say more?
No joke I have been in for coffee three times in the last two weeks – when I say it’s my new favourite spot, I’m not lying. The space is big with lots of tables; comfy chairs, commune tables, leather booths, bar seats – they have all the options. Plus it’s just a really cool spot. It’s open, bright, modern but still has that cozy feel that every cafe wants to be proud of.
I found this gorgeous suede vest at 27 Boutique on 17th ave. It is the perfect piece to build outfits around. You can wear it casual like I have done with jeans and a tank, or you could wear it to the office with a black dress or pants. You can wear it with heels, sneakers, flats, or boots. It is an essential part of your 2016 wardrobe, trust me – I am so glad that I found it for myself!
