What is your go-to Stampede outfit? I was born and raised in Calgary so naturally I have a few Western pieces to pull out during the 10 days of pancake breakfasts, rodeo, and Cowboy tenting. I usually head down to the grounds more than once so I need to have a few outfits ready – even still I wore the same outfit twice last year, sometimes you can’t help it. What I have been trying really hard to do is invest in some good quality, classy Western pieces that I can mix and match with each other and with the rest of my wardrobe during the year.
Even though it’s acceptable to wear cowboy boots all year round in YYC I tend to save mine just for July, but other than that I try to keep the outfits as classy and wearable as possible. 27 Boutique carries very cute cowgirl options like this lace dress that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it. What’s great about it is if I take away the cowboy boots and hat, throw on some heels and you’re set for a regular night out.
Let’s talk about this hat. I absolutely love it, I think it’s a great alternative to the classic cowboy hat – and again can be worn during the rest of the year, which is all the more reason to add it to my collection.
I had the lovely pleasure of collaborating with a (formerly) local blogger, Andrea from Bad Peace Fashion. She’s moved to Vancouver now, but she still has amazing style tips and inspo up on her blog. She is wearing another fabulous Stampede option, the fringe vest is to die for. What I love about collaboration is I get to use the amazing outfit ideas from other bloggers on my website.
