One of the problems I have with winter is that wearing skirts is a little chilly. My go-to of a tank top and pencil skirt is no longer viable, but I don’t ever want to retire them for a whole 6-8 months. Yes, I could wear leggings underneath but that’s just not my style and then I get all uncomfortable with too many waistbands.

My approach is to just layer as many items on the top half in hopes that it will keep you warm from the top down. It also makes it looks less summer-y when you are wearing sweaters and scarves with a skirt; people don’t give you that look like you’re crazy. I layered my favourite sweater and vest, but the possibilities are really endless, especially when you choose a skirt that is a solid, neutral colour.

The sweater is my latest purchase from Kit & Ace and I don’t think I have taken it off since. Yes it was super expensive, but yes, it was completely worth it. It pairs well with the Wilfred Free skirt, fur vest and vintage hat.
