Usually I don’t go for the bold patterns, bright colours, and push-the-envelope type looks. But something about this crop top, pencil skirt combo called to me. Maybe it was the velvet material it’s made out of or the vintage-wallpaper floral pattern. Either way, I knew that I had to wear both pieces together; go big or go home as they say. The gorgeous outfit is from Bamboo Ballroom in Inglewood.

The look is sexy, yet comfortable; two qualities that push an outfit into red carpet ready. You can’t really tell in the photos, but it’s made out of velvet; and usually I would never pick that for a full outfit, but for this it works really well. I’m obsessed with skirt/crop combinations and this one has become my favourite, hands down. Usually I don’t go for anything low cut, but this one is counteracted by the long sleeves and skirt. With this bold pattern, it needed a little extra skin from making it look like expensive pajamas. Even though the outfit is on the fancy side, the shoes you pair with it or the accessories can make it a versatile look.
