Although it may not look like much from the outside, once you step inside some of the cool coffee shops and note worthy restaurants the city has to offer, you’ll change your mind about Winnipeg. I’ve written other posts about Winnipeg HERE, HERE and HERE that have some great spots. I was there for 5 days over Christmas this time – just enough time to check out some new hot spots, hit up my faves and check out the classics and capture the moments for the gram.
When I look for restaurants and coffee shops to try out I usually start looking on Instagram. Let’s be honest, what’s the point of eating out if you can’t take a really great Instagram photo. I was on the hunt for the most Instagrammable spaces in the Peg and I think I found some gems. Let me know which ones I’ve missed for next time!
Forth is a café, restaurant and basement cocktail bar. In their own words, Forth aims to be a space that builds community and inspires collaboration. We also make great food, coffee and drinks. Arguably one of the coolest coffee shops to hang out at in YWG (Do Winnipegians use their airport code as much as YYC does?). And if you’re looking for avocado toast, this is the place for you.
One of the newest restaurants to pop up in the heart of Osborne Village, their original southern inspired food is worth stopping in for. The interior is modern rustic with a cozy, home atmosphere. We were there for lunch and fell in love with the Grass Fed Roast Beef and Cajun Chicken Po’Boys. Side of yam fries + local draft pint and I’ll see you there.
With two locations, you can’t go wrong with stopping into Thom’s. They serve Phil & Sebs coffee in photo-worthy shops, what more do you really need in life? The clean space and cool vibes keep me coming back every time I’m in town.
An oldy but goodie according to people who recommended this place to me on Instagram and it lived up to all the hype. Located in the basement of an old building downtown, the interior is the definition of cool. Did I mention its an all day breakfast place?
You didn’t even go to Winnipeg if you don’t stop in Bronuts. The most Instagram worthy space and the best donuts you’ll find in the city. Grab a cup of coffee to go with one of their classic or seasonal donuts.
